My wife Joan and I became members of Calvary Lutheran Church, Elgin, on November 29th, 2015.
I served as an usher from 2017 to 2019 which is when I was nominated for the elder board.
From 2020 to present I have had the pleasure of serving along side with my fellow elders.
I have served in the capacity of chairman of the board since 2023.

I attended the NID of the LCMS Convention in 2022 as a lay delegate and will be serving in the same capacity in 2025.

To better inform myself of how the governance works within the LCMS, I attended the national convention held in Tampa Bay FL in 2019.

I serve my community locally within my neighborhood through daily life and the care of my immediate neighbors. With the responsibilities I have towards my fellow parishioners, I don't have time to commit to any other organizations, but appreciate those that can.

Caring for those within our congregation has been a true blessing and at the same time a needed challenge and discipline in my life.

Working along side a group of men that love what we believe, teach and confess in Christ Jesus and His Holy Word and Sacrament has benefited me a great deal. Trough out many difficult times, such as Covid lock downs, what we confess in the book of concord has been our confidence and guide in the decisions made. A major challenge is always an opportunity to ask yourself, what is it that you truly believe? Our goal is to continue being the gate keepers for Calvary and watch for the welfare of for the Calvary family and strongly support our pastor in his vocational responsibility to teach faithfully God's word rightly, as well as him and his families wellbeing.
