Both NID and LCMS are mission-oriented and make known the love of Christ by word and deed within churches, communities, districts, and the world. They are passionate about the proclamation of the Gospel in various ways throughout the world. NID has three pillars that work together in the mission vision as a guide to all the district churches. These pillars are word, wellness, and witness. Some of the ways we are addressing the pillars include: supporting our pastors as they carry out our LCMS doctrine and preaching the true words of the Bible. We also support each other in our churches as brothers and sisters of Christ. We can look for visitors in our individual congregations and be the loving Christ-filled community they so desperately need. My church is working on increasing our school numbers and church attendance. There are many mission opportunities through the school children. Christ asks us to bring the love of Christ to our neighbors, share our faith, and preach the gospel!

Opportunities:
*To serve the Lord, my district, and my church. I consider it an honor to serve Northern Illinois District as a member of the NID Board of Directors.
Goals:
*Help promote the shared vision/mission of the district.
*Advocate for the needs of the district and inspire churches to care for the district beyond the individual congregations.
*Get involved in other areas of district as a volunteer.
*Help the district find second career pastors by assisting with education completion and/or career changes for interested individuals.
