Layperson
willing to be placed on the ballot for the Office/Board(s) for which I have been recommended
I have served in several ways in my congregation. Since 2016 I have taught in our preschool and kindergarten Sunday School class. I volunteered with our confirmation program from 2018 through spring of 2024. I joined our Endowment Committee in 2023 and our Youth Advisory Council in the summer of 2024.
I do not have any experiences serving in District.
I do not have any experiences serving in Synod.
I primarily serve my community through participation in LWML service events. I have been an LWML member since 2020 and have participated in our community service events for shelters, food pantries, and pregnancy resource centers. I currently serve as the District Treasurer for the LWML NID. I also serve on the Make A Difference DKC committee that hosts and annual Feed My Starving Children MobilePack event each November.
The mission of the LCMS is the mission that Christ gave His disciples: to spread the Good News and to Baptize. All members of the LCMS are called to show Christ's love to their neighbors so their neighbors may know Christ. God gives us the Sacraments to sustain our faith. He further strengthens and renews us through worship, Bible study, and Christian fellowship in our churches and district that we may go out into the world and proclaim His Truth. As the redeemed people of Christ we are gifted to be able to do the good works that Christ prepared in advance for us to do so that He might bring the lost back to Him. As the NID we should strengthen and encourage each other to grow and sustain the Church so that the knowledge of redemption through Christ's death and resurrection can be passed down from generation to generation.
I think the biggest challenge we are facing is connecting with those who are not active church members. We live in a time filled with constant notifications, noises, and overlapping scheduled events. I would make it a goal to work on strengthening and equipping all of our congregation members to connect with people and show them the peace that is ours in Christ. I also think it would be helpful to see where our churches can support each other. I think that as God's people we best do His work in community because He has given each person different gifts for doing different types of work. As a district we should work together to strengthen each other in faith and to reach out to people and connect them to Christ and the people that He graciously gives us to worship and serve with in our local churches. As the Psalmist says in Psalm 122:1 "I rejoiced with those who said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord." May we all rejoice together in Christ.
