Mission of Work

As the son of an LCMS teacher and musician, I have been actively involved in LCMS congregations since birth. The mission of the LCMS as a synod is now more than ever to be a champion of biblical truth as it performs the duty of establishing and supporting its member congregations as they seek to deliver God's word in their communities and sustain the faith of believers in Christ Jesus.

I have been a member of LCMS congregations in three different districts: Florida-Georgia, English, and Northern Illinois. The mission of the NID is to support the more localized efforts of its member congregations to faithfully administer Christ's word and sacraments. Its geographical location near the heart of American Lutheranism provides the opportunity to promote and advance practices such as historic liturgical worship. Baptizing, teaching, and working to raise and recruit faithful servants is crucial to this effort in an ever-evolving and expanding mission field.

Challenges, Opportunities, and Goals

The main initial challenge for me would be to acclimate to a new and additional aspect of service in the church. Twenty years of experience as an LCMS church worker and more than double that as a member of LCMS congregations would help provide opportunities in which I may be able to offer constructive dialogue as it relates to the business of the Board of Directors. It would be my goal to productively contribute to the efforts of the NID by being faithful to God's word while employing a particularly calm and thoughtful demeanor.
