Layperson
willing to be placed on the ballot for the Office/Board(s) for which I have been recommended
I am a dedicated member of Tabor Lutheran Church. I have served as President of the congregation (prior to working for the church), run many outreach events (2015-present) for the community and led women's Life Group. I am passionate about urban ministry and committed to promoting the Gospel of Christ in all aspects of Tabor's ministry.
I have worked collaboratively with the NID to foster a good working relationship between Tabor and the District along with our Pastor. I have encourage and helped with partnership in outreach initiatives, and provided support and communication to strengthen the church’s impact in the community with the NID's help. I have also served as a lay-delegate for the last two conventions.
I served as a lay delegate for the 2023 National LCMS Convention.
I have served and led many community outreach events at Tabor, ranging from Coffee and Indoor Open Play for young families, with under 15 attendants, to a large scale Back to School Party with over 400 people in attendance. Meeting people where they are in life and in their faith journey is very important to me. I am committed to being the "hands and feet" of Jesus.
As a parent of the next generation of LCMS, I am committed to maintaining a clear and compassionate witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ for my children and others. I believe that when the church embraces people and truly live out the Gospel within their walls, new believers can see it. The NID has such a wide and diverse area that is covered. It is my prayer that we, as a district and Synod, continue to embrace those, especially in the urban setting, that the church has historically over looked.
I would love to see more representation of urban congregations on the NID Board and to help focus on ALL of our small, struggling congregations in the suburbs, rural communities and the city. I would like to also focus on addressing our need for fully trained pastors and teacher and DCE's and how the district can continue to support our current church workers and future church workers.
