Scriptural Theme
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27 ESV).

The goal of this session is to lead participants to love their neighbor, even when that neighbor has racial or cultural differences, or perhaps is even considered an adversary. The primary teaching will be drawn from Jesus’ parable of The Good Samaritan and reflects on Jesus’ teaching to even “love your enemies” (Matthew 5:43-45). In order to build a foundation of empathy, the study seeks to have the participants relate to the story from the perspective of the lawyer, the Jew, and the Samaritan.
